The First International Congress on Construction History which was held in Madrid in 2003 brought together for the first time international scholars from a wide range of academic disciplines and professions. The second congress aimed to build on this success.

Based in the beautiful surroundings of the University of Cambridge, the Congress covered all aspects of construction history including engineering and technology, social and economic issues. As well as providing a forum for the delivery of papers highlighting the latest research, the congress included lectures from invited speakers on the key issues facing those interested in construction history and invited debate on how the subject can most profitably develop in the future.

The Medieval surroundings of Queens' College, with its magnificent dining facilities and comfortable rooms, provided an appropriate venue. The congress included a banquet in the College Hall and tours of Ely cathedral, St Paul's Cathedral, Stewartby brickworks, Burghley House, Kings College Chapel and the Bridges of London.

The Proceedings for the conference are available for purchase. They consist of 3 Volumes, a total of 3,471 pages and weigh approximately 10 kg. A list of the papers in the proceedings is downloadable here.

The price for all three volumes is 110.00 plus packing and postage.
